NEBOSH General Certificate

What will I learn?

The syllabus is divided into 2 units, NG1 and NG2. Each unit is assessed separately. NG1 Management of Health and Safety contains 4 Elements; Why we should manage workplace health and safety; How health and safety management systems work and what they look like; Managing risk – understanding people and processes; Health and safety monitoring and measuring.

NG2 Risk Assessment contains 7 Elements; Physical and psychological health; Musculoskeletal health; Chemical and biological agents; General workplace issues; Work equipment; Fire; Electricity.

What qualifications do I need?

No formal entry qualifications, but it should be noted that the examination includes a requirement to carry out a risk assessment, the methodology used and a report.

What can I do after?

NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or a Professional Development Award in Occupational Safety and Health. Students may also progress on to a university degree programme.
